The Sagicor Foundation has raised a total donation of $48,232,705.64 for its 2021 Sigma Run beneficiaries. This is less than $2 million away from the fundraising target of $50 million the charitable arm of the financial conglomerate, Sagicor Group Jamaica, set at the Sigma Run launch event in January.
On Sunday February 21st, at the Sigma Run Invitational event, Sagicor announced that it had raised $42 million, however since then, the company said that donations from corporate Jamaica and individuals continue to come in. 

“It truly is a heart-warming feeling to know that even after what would represent our culminating event on Sunday with the Invitational that we are still getting significant donations from companies and individuals”, said Christopher Zacca, President and CEO, Sagicor Group. 
Zacca added that “this year’s Sigma Run may be one of the most significant to date, especially given the current circumstances with the pandemic and the great need of the health and education sectors.”

The beneficiaries of this year’s fundraising proceeds are the Annotto Bay and Port Antonio Hospitals as well as the Get Back on Track Educational Programme. 
“We are grateful and appreciative of every donation received, every dollar counts and all the proceeds will help so many lives; the critical and much-needed medical equipment for the hospitals will help them to provide greater care for citizens, and the Get Back on Track programme will aid many students who are impacted by the disruptions in school caused by the pandemic”, Zacca said.
