Mrs. Janice Grant Taffe is an attorney-at-law with more than 40 years’ experience across the public and private sectors. She is currently a Partner at GrantTaffe Law, where her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, conveyancing, corporate governance advisory services for start-up companies, and estate planning.
She previously served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited, retiring in 2021 after 32 years of service.
Mrs. Grant Taffe holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours from The University of the West Indies, a Legal Education Certificate from Norman Manley Law School, and a Certificate in Foreign Investment Negotiations from the International Law Institute at Georgetown University. She has also completed advanced corporate governance training at The University of the West Indies, Mona (May 2021)
She is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute and previously served on the Jamaica Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. As a corporate governance professional, Mrs. Grant Taffe has contributed to the development of governance standards in Jamaica, including supporting the introduction of the Corporate Governance Index for listed companies in 2016 and the transition to electronic publication of annual reports.
Mrs. Grant Taffe also serves as Corporate Secretary for Regency Petroleum Company Limited and as a board member of YSmart Data Limited. She is a member of the Hospital Management Committee of the Kingston Public Hospital and serves as Chairman of the Webster Memorial Basic School, an outreach of Webster Memorial United Church.
