Mr Melhado is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the ICD Group and Chairman of Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited, a local conglomerate with interests in real estate, construction, property management, general insurance and business process outsourcing, brings a wealth of experience to these new roles.
With a proven track record in the financial services industry from 1993, Mr Melhado held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Manufacturers Group and led the acquisition of Sigma Investment Managers in 2001, resulting in the formation of Manufacturers Sigma. He remained in that position until the merger of Manufacturers Sigma and Pan Caribbean in 2004.
He is on the Board of Directors of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited, Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited and Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited.
He is a former Vice President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and serves as a Chairman of Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited. Mr Melhado attained a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, with a major in Finance.
