Sagicor staff completes annual hamper donation drive
Castries, St Lucia: Each year during the Christmas season, the Sagicor team gets together to provide care hampers to individuals and organisations in the community. 2020 was no different as the team shared joy with individuals and families directly, as well as through the Boguis United Stars Club and the Christian Faith Assembly, who distributed to members of their communities.
Eon Phillips, Sagicor’s Assistant Vice President, EC Insurance Operations, Branch Manager and Principal Representative, St Lucia gave some background on the initiative. He said, “For three years now, the team members from Sagicor come together each year and through their own donations and effort, purchase items and collaborate to put together hampers for those in need. The persons and organisations who receive the hampers are suggested by the team members and then the company will provide a contribution to ensure that we meet the goals. I’m proud of the Sagicor team, who despite the challenges we’ve all been working through, stepped up in a very meaningful way to support this project and as a result this is the largest number of hampers we have ever distributed for this project.”
Altogether, the team put together 53 hampers for individuals and families, the Boguis United Stars Club and the Christian Faith Assembly who in turn have been helping persons with whom they come into contact.
Reekel Albert, Administrative Assistant at Sagicor’s Choc Estate Office said, “I know I speak for the entire team when I say we were very happy to do this small activity to share some joy for the season with our community. If it’s one lesson I think we all took from 2020 it’s that each small thing that we do to help another, can have an impact.”
