Check Yours Out

Early Detection Can Make A Difference!

Globally and regionally, breast cancer is acknowledged as one of the most common cancers affecting women, however, they are not alone in this fight. Although fewer in number, men are also susceptible to the ravaging effects of this non-communicable disease. However, there is always hope, the hope of early detection.

Pinktober has become the driving force in the awareness efforts, sensitizing the public to the importance of screening for early detection which can mean the difference between life and death. Millions have survived due in no small part to the awareness campaigns and education shared each October.

Sagicor is taking the Fight Against Breast Cancer one step further, moving from awareness to action with our new theme #CheckYoursOut. This campaign addresses the biggest challenge for Caribbean women in the Fight Against Breast Cancer; not being able to afford proper screenings. Sagicor has stepped up and made this a major focus of the #CheckYoursOut campaign.

Beyond these fund-raising efforts, Sagicor shared the important message of early detection throughout the community, utilizing strategically placed signage in high traffic locations, such as malls and our own offices, encouraging people to “Stop and Get Tested.”

The #CheckYoursOut campaign continues with fund raising efforts featuring specially designed t-shirts encouraging our Sagicor friends and family to be more involved. Raise awareness by purchasing and wearing your #CheckYoursOut Pinktober shirts during the month of October, with proceeds from every sale going towards the respective Cancer societies across the region and their awareness programmes.
