Sagicor Financial Company Ltd.
Sagicor has been in business since 1840; its longevity attributed to savvy business practices and creating shareholder value. As the second-oldest insurer in the Americas, we’ve been defining financial services in the Caribbean for over 180 years. Our business strategy transformed us from a local life insurance company to a solid, regional financial services group, before growing into the international financial services market. After the company became publicly traded in 2002, Sagicor Financial Corporation became a holding company, and nested within this corporation are our other operations. Sagicor now operates in 19 countries throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Our name and identity draw on the strength, stability and financial prudence, and define the flexibility wise financial thinking can bring to our customers throughout their lives. Local expertise and partnerships with world-class asset managers, reinsurers, and sound risk management ensure Sagicor is truly able to improve peoples' lives through "wise judgement", and will continue to meet their financial needs.
We view wealth creation and protection as a social investment. For many decades, we’ve provided financial support and voluntary assistance, especially in the areas of health, education, youth development and sports. Additionally, we’ve also supported the prevention of non-communicable diseases, promoted healthy living, and improving access to, and facilities for, healthcare in the region. We are also proud to support education at the primary, secondary and tertiary level, as well as a number of adult education and development activities.
As we move through these challenging times, in the economic life of our region and the rest of the world, Sagicor's core business strategies will continue to provide a wide range of financial products and services. And as always we are committed to our vision, "to be a great company, committed to improving the lives of people in the communities in which we operate."
