Sagicor Life Inc sponsors uniforms for the Cricket Umpires Association
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: In 2019 the umpires of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Umpires Association will be officiating games in new uniforms sponsored by Sagicor.
The Association which has been supporting Antiguan cricket since its inception in 1955 seeks to mould, support and develop its members with the utmost respect and professionalism for the game and its players. Currently the Association consists of 25 active umpires. The Association thanked Sagicor at a small event on Thursday 18th January; and wore the spanking new T-shirts and caps from the weekend of January 20th when the Umpire Association’s calendar of events kicked off with the ABCA 9’s tournament.
Marisia James, Branch Manager for Sagicor Life in Antigua was present at the handover ceremony, “Cricket is still one of the most important sports and pastimes in Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the Caribbean. We are delighted that we can support the continuation of standards of excellence in the sport, by providing funding for the uniforms for our esteemed umpires. It’s the start of a great relationship here in Antigua.”
