Robert Trestrail was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Trinidad and Tobago Operations of Sagicor Life Inc with effect from January 1, 2007. He has since been responsible for general branch administration and administration of the Investment Portfolio.

He joined Sagicor Life Inc on May 1, 2001, as an Assistant Vice President – Administration, and became a member of the Senior Management Team of the Trinidad and Tobago Branch operations. He was promoted to the post of Vice President – Administration in 2004, and became Executive Vice President and General Manager Designate on May 1, 2006.

He has more than 20 years in the insurance and financial services industry, and holds a Bachelor of Arts with an Economics major from the University of Toronto.

Robert presently serves as a director on the Board of Governors of the Trinidad & Tobago Insurance Institute (TTII), having been appointed in 2007, as well as on the board of RGM Limited and its subsidiaries since 2002. He served as the president of the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (TTCIC) in 2015/2016, and was a board member of the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce from 2006 to 2018. Robert was also a board member of the Association of Trinidad & Tobago Insurance Companies (ATTIC) from 2003 to 2008, having served as Vice President Life 2007-2008.

On October 1, 2017, Robert's portfolio was expanded with the addition of the operations in Aruba, Curacao, and St. Maarten.
