Sagicor partners with DriveWise this Carnival weekend
Port of Spain, Trinidad—Sagicor General Insurance has joined forces with DriveWise Trinidad and will appear at the Jamboree Carnival cooler fete this Saturday, February 22, at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.
DriveWise Trinidad uses interactive simulations to educate drivers on safety and how to respond to hazardous driving conditions. As motor insurance forms part of its insurance portfolio, it makes sense for Sagicor to partner with DriveWise. Sagicor has also negotiated with TT RideShare (TTRS), a local ridesharing company, to offer a 20 per cent discount to Jamboree riders on fete day, all in an effort to promote responsible driving habits.
The first 50 Jamboree ticketholders to sign up on social media will be entered automatically in the Grand Prize competition for a chance to win a cool down fete with friends worth $3,000. They will also receive a Carnival Pack that includes a Sagicor Designated Driver tee which must be worn on the day.
Patrons can also enter the DriveWise Simulator challenge on Carnival Saturday to qualify for the fun prize. The winner will be the person to reach the furthest in the DriveWise challenge without any accidents.
DriveWise is also giving away two free defensive driving programmes and 20% off any defensive driving course to lucky participants who sign up at the booth.
In promoting the partnership, Sagicor General’s Marketing Manager Lisa Mahabir said it was important to highlight the importance of safe driving especially at Carnival time.
“As a leading provider of general insurance, it is incumbent on us to communicate the importance of safe driving practices,” she said. “During Carnival season, we urge partygoers to ensure they organise a safe ride home as they owe it to themselves, their families and their loved ones to reach their destination safely. We are pleased to be able to partner with DriveWise and TTRS in advancing this mandate and take the opportunity to wish everyone a safe Carnival as we near the climax of our activities.”
Three lucky fetegoers also got a chance to win tickets for two on Sagicor’s and Jamboree’s social media pages.
