Sagicor Life (Eastern Caribbean) Inc is the most recent entity to be incorporated into the Sagicor family. Backed by the strength and history of the Sagicor brand, Sagicor Life (Eastern Caribbean) Inc delivers the same values and principles for which Sagicor is known but with the qualities that embody the magic of this chain of islands.
Our Eastern Caribbean markets comprise:
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Dominica
- Grenada
- St Lucia
- St Kitts and Nevis
- St Vincent and the Grenadines
Sagicor started operating in many of these markets between 1840 and 1868, which demonstrates a strong and extensive association between the company and the countries. With the acquisition of Life of Barbados in 2002, the Group strengthened its operations in several of the Eastern Caribbean markets and is now the leading insurance company in many of these countries.
In 2014 the company began the process towards the creation of a subsidiary to support these markets to respond to changes in the financial laws within the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States – Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, which governs financial laws for this region. Incorporating Sagicor Life Eastern Caribbean also ensured that the Group is always efficiently structured to respond to the needs of all its stakeholders. The new company was launched in 2015.
