Sagicor sponsors dentists’ conference
Port of Spain, Trinidad—Health insurer Sagicor was one of the silver sponsors of the three-day Trinidad and Tobago Dental Association’s (TTDA) dental convention, held at the Hyatt last month.
The theme Dentistry: the New Age, saw doctors Subir Banerji, a restorative dentist from King’s College in London; Alison Mayers, periodontist; Soumi Sen Gupta, implantology specialist; and Edel Elim de la Fuente, endodontist, take the stage to share their knowledge and techniques with both up and coming, as well as well-established dentists.
President of the Trinidad and Tobago Dental Association Dr Sanjay Ramnanan said, “This was the first dental convention to be held in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) in 10 years. It comes at a time when dentists in T&T are fighting against the growing number of unregistered illegal dental practitioners across the country. Our goal at the Trinidad and Tobago Dental Association is to build a comradery among our fraternity and raise the level of our treatment that we can provide for our patients together.”
Dirk Hart, assistant vice president, direct sales and client relations, group life & health, at Sagicor Life Inc, said, “Events like this align with Sagicor’s purpose as a health insurer, as we work closely with the medical fraternity. We were happy to come on board to support the continued education of the nation’s dentists and to partner with the TTDA.”
This three-day event hosted more than 100 dentists every day, with the goal of developing their skills for the betterment of their patients.
