Regional corporations get Sagicor flood relief

November 22, 2022
Heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in several areas of Trinidad and Tobago, particularly in the Penal and Couva constituencies, in early November. In response, Caribbean insurer Sagicor supported the Disaster Management Units (DMUs) in the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo, and Penal/Debe regional corporations with food hampers and cleaning supplies, which are to be donated to affected residents in these areas.

This donation further deepens the relationship that Sagicor has developed with the nation’s regional corporations since 2018, a role the financial services entity has taken on in supporting the communities in which it operates in practical ways, in line with its vision.

Robert Trestrail, President and CEO, Sagicor Life Inc, said, “Climate change continues to have negative impacts globally, and we in the Caribbean, and by extension, Trinidad and Tobago, are not immune. Sagicor continues to work with our partners in the regional corporations to lend assistance, as they are best positioned to deploy help to those in need in the community.”
