Catch It Early: Sagicor Champions Breast Cancer Awareness Across the Caribbean

October 08, 2025

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Each year, 2.3 million women are diagnosed, and 670,000 lose their lives. The Caribbean faces the same reality: too many lives are cut short, too many families impacted. The difference between life and loss often comes down to timing. Regular screenings and early detection save lives. Women who miss their first breast screening face a 40% higher risk of dying from the disease.

That’s why Sagicor is launching its Pinktober 2025 campaign, themed “Catch It Early. Don’t drop the ball”. The message is simple but urgent: don’t wait, act now.

Throughout October, Sagicor will host health screenings, fitness challenges, survivor-led conversations, and community events across the region. Staff, clients, and the wider public are being called to join in. The goal? Make wellness a daily choice, not an afterthought.

“Pinktober is not just about awareness; it’s about action,” said Robert Trestrail, President and CEO, Sagicor. “Early detection saves lives. Sagicor is committed to making sure our communities have the information, encouragement, and support they need to stay proactive.”

Sagicor encourages the public to take part in Pinktober 2025: book your screening, support a loved one, and share the message. Follow the campaign across Sagicor’s social media channels — Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn — using #CatchItEarly and #DontDroptheBall #Pinktober #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth to stay updated and join the conversation.
