Join the Fight

For Pinktober 2023 Sagicor urges you to “Join The Fight” against breast cancer.

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death for women globally and in the Caribbean, where unfortunately there is a higher mortality rate compared with North America and European countries (Breast Cancer in the Caribbean, 2021)

Breast Cancer Stats

Sagicor has been always encouraged awareness and action around breast cancer. We urge everyone, all genders, of all ages to become involved in this cause and “Join the Fight” which is the theme of our breast cancer initiative for 2023.

There are some diseases which impact individuals and families not just in the moment, but for years and many generations. Cancer is one of those diseases and most persons who have been impacted will share stories about how their lives changed following a cancer scare or diagnosis. And this is the case whether it happens to you, or to someone you love. In many cases it can be happening to the friend of a family, or even to someone you may work with. Cancer changes you.

Given the pervasive impact of cancer and particularly breast cancer for women, Sagicor feels that it is important that we are all reminded of the many ways persons can join the fight, which can end up saving a life.
