Sagicor staff support Roseau Health Centre Staff Valentine’s Day Tribute

February 26, 2021

Roseau, Dominica: The resilience of the people of Dominica is deeply rooted in the community minded nature of its citizens and this was exemplified recently when various business organisations came together to support the Roseau Health Centre pay tribute to its workers, who have been providing exemplary and yeoman service during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A few members of the team at the Roseau Health Centre decided to celebrate and show appreciation for their colleagues by preparing and surprising them with dinner for Valentine’s Day.

The team at Sagicor Life (EC) Inc, led by Cheryl Rolle received the request for a contribution from the Health Centre and responded by giving from their own pockets. Ms. Rolle said, “Covid-19 and the resulting pandemic has taken its toll on us in different ways. I have always encouraged my team to be community oriented. If we can, we should always step up. So they were pleased to give of themselves.”

Rolle continued, “The frontline professionals from the medical community have had to deal with the increased risk of contracting this disease, while they continue to do their jobs with care and empathy; even as they deal with the same challenges, we’re all facing. It’s important to have these moments of joy and celebration. These moments demonstrate the Dominican spirit of resilience and care.”
