Sagicor supports TT's flood relief efforts

August 19, 2021
Regional insurer Sagicor presented much-needed flood relief items to three regional corporations to assist those residents who would have been impacted by the flooding that took place on August 3.

The Disaster Management Units from the Diego Martin Regional Corporation, the Port of Spain City Corporation, and the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation confirmed that cleaning items and face masks were most needed following the flood’s impact.

Each corporation received donations of masks, as well as cleaning tools integral to post-recovery,  namely mops, brooms, and buckets, with the Port of Spain City Corporation also receiving food hampers.

Keston Howell, president and CEO, Sagicor General Insurance Inc, said, “Flooding has such a long-range impact on affected communities. Apart from the initial flooding, the clean-up and recording of  losses means recovery takes time. Sagicor is committed to improving the lives of the people in the communities in which we operate,  so as a corporate leader we are happy to help those affected via the regional corporations.”

Sagicor’s commitment to corporate social responsibility continues to be  evident through  its many CSR programmes, as well as its covid-19 relief efforts during the ongoing global pandemic.
