Sagicor Group Jamaica Delivers Very Strong Performance In Q3 Amidst Unprecedented Year
Sagicor Group Jamaica, for its third quarter results - ending September 30, 2020, is reporting a very strong performance, even amidst what has been one the most unprecedented years in history with the global COVID-19 health pandemic.
Net profit attributable to stockholders reported is $5.97 billion for the quarter an increase of 33% when compared to the comparative period in 2019 of $4.47 billion. For the quarter ended June 2020, the Group’s net profit attributable to stockholders was $2.47 billion.
Year to date profit at the end of September was $10.33 billion, and this strong outturn, despite the headwinds caused by COVID, signals that Sagicor Jamaica is weathering the storm and demonstrating very strong core business performance. The Group’s insurance business reported net premium income of 10% higher than prior year and according to Christopher Zacca, President and CEO of the financial conglomerate, “we have seen a healthy new business sales and portfolio growth that continues to drive core results, and in fact all our business lines performed creditably in Q3”.
