Sagicor General launches product for Young People
Haggatt Hall, Barbados: Sagicor General Insurance is welcoming young drivers with their Young Professionals’ Motor Policy.
The Caribbean general insurance company recently launched the product with an event geared specifically for Millenials. The policy offers young people from the age of 18, an opportunity to cover not only their vehicle, but themselves and their possessions. Policyholders can cover mobile and electronic devices and household items as well as gain increased medical coverage and personal accident coverage, not as separate policies but as one, single policy.
Sagicor General’s President and CEO Keston Howell, in addressing the audience, gave the rationale behind the product innovation, “At Sagicor General, we know that young people help to power the world we live in and so it is our responsibility as a business to accept the challenge they have given us to create bolder, better products and services that allow them to further take charge of their lives, so they are better able to take on the world.”
Sagicor General’s Business Development Officer Andre Barrow conceptualized the policy and used the launch to give real-life examples of the policy’s features, “If your laptop or mobile device is stolen from you going to or from your car, you can make a claim for them. If you don’t own your home as yet but have bought the furniture at your parents’ house, for example, you can cover that also. Those are just some of the ways the YP policy can work for our young people.”
The event also saw the Sagicor General Team making presentations to two youth service organisations –Young and Progressive Barbados and Rotaract, highlighting their efforts in advancing Barbados’ youth. At the event patrons took in the picturesque grounds of Sweetfield Manor, received massages, took photos with the photo booth and relaxed in the lounge area. They also took in art from the talented artists of PM Splash.
Sagicor General’s Young Professionals’ Motor Policy is open to both comprehensive and third-party policyholders.
