BRIDGETOWN, Barbados –Sagicor is stepping out into communities across the island to ensure that more Barbadians develop the level of financial literacy needed to make wise financial decisions for life.

As such, the leading financial services provider recently held its first of many “Sagicor Community Check-Ups” at the St. Peter’s Parish Church, where the company’s knowledgeable team presented on approaches to investing, planning for retirement, in addition to assisting patrons with their understanding of financial health and wellness, along with matters related to mortgages, motor, home, business, life and health insurance.

Vice President – Barbados Sales, Gay Griffith, said financial literacy is key to individuals being able to realise the vision that they have for their lives and that of their families.

“Everyone has goals and aspirations, however, one of the common roadblocks that prevents or makes them hard to achieve is a lack of financial capacity to do so”, said Griffith.

“With careful and precise planning, roadblocks can be removed, and that’s where we come in. Sagicor’s vision is to be a company committed to improving the lives of the people in the communities in which we operate. We will therefore be hosting these sessions at various locations across the island to assist Barbadians in realizing their vision for 2020 and beyond”, he stated.

In addition to the discussions on financial and insurance matters, patrons were also able to take advantage of free medical check-ups and consultations provided by the company’s mobile medical unit.
