Mrs Susan Boyea is the Vice President, Group Insurance with effect from January 1, 2020.

The Vice President, Group Insurance provides oversight and leadership of the Company's Group Life and Health and Creditor Life portfolios in the Eastern Caribbean (EC), Aruba, Curacao, Belize, St Maarten and Barbados. The post has responsibility for providing technical support to management of relevant portfolios in the EC, Aruba, Belize, Curacao, St Maarten, Barbados and Panama including reinsurance for Trinidad. Mrs Boyea will also be responsible for managing the relationships with corporate and individual clients and third party service providers including regulatory bodies, reinsurers, medical and technical professionals, brokers and sales agents.

Susan's career with Sagicor Life Inc began with the legacy company Life of Barbados where she started as Systems Analyst/ Programmer. Her interesting career experiences in Life of Barbados and subsequent career with Sagicor Life Inc saw promotions to the post of Manager, Information Systems; Assistant Vice President, Shared Services Information Technology, Vice President Shared Services Information Technology and assignments as Project Manager on a major transformative corporate project. Prior to this new appointment, she held the post of Vice President, Business Relationship Management where she was responsible for providing strategic insights, stimulating innovation, shaping business demand and ensuring business value was realized from Information Technology.

Susan is a graduate of the University of the West Indies where she obtained a BSc. in Computer Science and Mathematics (Hons) and an Executive Master's in Business Administration (Dist.). She is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and possesses certifications in Project Management and Governance of Information Technology, in addition to being trained in negotiation strategies from the Wharton School of Business. In 2018, she attained the Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) designation from BRM Institute.

In addition to chairing the Digital Society of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Susan is also member of the recently established Barbados Chapter of the International Women's Forum. She also sits on the Council of the Business Relationship Management Institute.
